Thank you for considering the B & M Forecart
The B & M Forecart is an extremely versatile tool for the teamster. It is easily converted from single horse shafts to a heavy draft multiple horse field cart in minutes without using a jack or tools. All aspects of this cart are the product of 20 plus years of farming with and training draft horses and mules. Over the years I have built eight carts for various purposes. In this one cart we have tried to bring together all of the best ideas from the others. The shafts for the single driver are light but well constructed. The ends of the shafts slide into the tongue sockets on either side of the driver platform. Using this system you eliminate the bounce produced by using one center mount. This also makes it very simple to install the shafts by simply sliding the shaft ends into the tongue sockets and installing the pins.. Shafts are built for draft size but work equally well on crossbreeds or mules. Haflingers will usually take a smaller size and can be ordered. The multiple hitch tongue is moveable from the center setting to either the left or right side enabling the hitching of three abreast while keeping the line of draft true. The tongue length can be changed from the standard nine feet to nine feet six inches and ten feet without tools. This makes it possible to extend the tongue when using multiple horse field eveners. The drawbar can be moved to the right or left as well as under the tongue in the center position. When using heavy multiple horse eveners positioned under the tongue the animals create lift when moving forward reducing tongue weight while also keeping line of draft true. The seat can be moved to the left or right side or rotated. Additional seats can be added to accommodate riders or training drivers. The same seat, front standard and tongue are used on the work sled.. The basic cart is equipped with the tongue, single seat and standard six bolt hubs. Sixteen inch wheels and tires are included. The cart can be ordered with fifteen inch wheels and tires for haflingers or without wheels and tires. |

We offer two types of neck yokes, the slip on and the bolt on style. The rings are 3/8" steel and the pipe is 1 1/2" with the ends sealed. They can be built to the length you want. |

The formed steel eveners have been a favorite for years. These are patterned after the IHC and John Deere style. The hooks and straps are 5/16" and the bar is riveted and a bushing welded in the center hole for strength. They can be ordered in any length and also as a three or four horse evener. |

The pipe style eveners are built for a rope and pulley system or other heavy work. They can be ordered in any length or as three or four horse eveners. |
